Let’s Get Down To Business

Thank you for deciding to continue with your walking program. As I’ve mentioned to you before, walking can be very effective to help you lose weight and get in better shape. As our time together continues I want you to know that I’m planning to do everything in my power to help you achieve your goals and more.

Remember to watch your e mail and look for the videos and other pieces of information that can keep you on track with your goals.

Reaching your goals is as much about your mindset as anything else. These mindset skills apply to weight loss or any other goals that you decide to strive for. The first matter of business recommends that you get your mindset right.

Here are some pointers.

  • The first step in any successful journey is KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT. Be clear on what your objective is and then DECIDE to go after it with all your strength.
  • After you’ve decided what you want it’s important to give yourself a regular dose of “I CAN” Self-Talk. Believe that you can. Belief is a very powerful factor in reaching any goal
  • TAKE ACTION- Knowing what to do and believing that you can won’t do you any good unless you make the plan and get after it.
  • CHECK YOUR RESULTS– Is the plan working? If it’s not working the way you think it should be sure not to give up and think the plan is not good. Be honest with yourself and see if there may be something that you can do differently. Ex. If you’re walking and after a while you are not feeling stronger or losing weight ask yourself if you can walk faster and longer and are you doing it everyday? Are you watching what you are eating? Do you know what you should be eating to make your diet more effective and do you know where you can go to get that information? Are you practicing deep breathing regularly?
  • GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT AND BE PATIENT– I know you’ve heard this before but it bears repeating. Be kind to yourself and be thankful for your effort and your willingness to try. Results may not happen overnight but they will happen. Keep it up!
